ABOUT US

ZeroWasteLIFE

ZeroWasteLIFE was conceived to address the issues of sustainability in the composite manufacturing, actively contributing to the effective reduction of CO2 emissions, energy savings, inferior landfilling, and the creation of healthier world for the citizen. The project aims to design and manufacture tooling and composite three-dimensional shapes and structures that can be performed through optimized amount of material, drastically reducing the volume to be wasted in the working process and maintaining (or even enhancing) the stiffness level of the parts.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Programme for Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) under grant agreement N°101114149. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of European Union or CINEA. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.

Partner

BERCELLA is a dynamic and innovative Italian company driving since 30 years the design and engineering of cutting-edge solutions using Advanced Composites and Light Alloys. Bercella is specialized in large and complex structures, providing demanding industries with tailored high-performance systems, through a 360° service: from early design to engineering development to advanced manufacturing, all being vertically integrated in-house, for final turnkey solutions enhancing process control, costs reduction and efficiency.
BERCELLA is the ZeroWasteLIFE project coordinator, as well as the project’s partner at which headquarter the system will be installed, validating the whole manufacturing process and supporting its replicability in other fields. BERCELLA will exploit and maintain the system well beyond its 5-years depreciation time, enabling further testing and assessment of the projects’ results’ replicability in other business cases/sectors.
